Page 8 - The Bureau
P. 8
Website designers can do their work anywhere and although The Bureau had its own offi ces,
Alastair Murray visited every customer’s office, wherever in the country, at least once.
The philosophy of The Bureau was to meet face-to-face, which was always appreciated by
customers. A long way off what firms are doing today!
Some of the organisations mentioned in the pages below no longer exist, or have changed
their names, merged with other firms, or been bought by one or another broker group and
a few just don’t get a mention owing to lost records. Nevertheless, all were created by a
business with less than 5 staff .
These firms are listed in alphabetical order, including in most cases the date when each
ordered their Domains, email services and Websites. At the beginning most had personal
lines insurances like private motor, travel and household insurance but this has dwindled
steadily in subsequent years, leaving most now focused on commercial and specialist or
niche products and services.
